Q: Do you fix microwaves?

A: I do not work on microwaves. The big companies that I believe do that area are Priority, Trail or Totem Appliance Repair.

If  it is one over the stove/range (OTR) then I would personally put in a hood fan (about $50 to buy) and use a microwave (about $100) on the counter, above the fridge or in a cupboard or cubby somewhere. The OTRs break all the time from the moisture/oil from cooking. Also they cost so much more than the alternatives. The alternatives are often both cheaper and better. Most microwave/hood fans do not move enough air to work well as a hood fan, so the smoke alarm goes off all the time. The hood fan takes up less space and makes the place look bigger too. I personally made the switch and love my hood fan. The microwave we got for a couple hundred dollars also does convection oven and broil/toaster oven function and “combination” cooking. We love it. Hope this info helps you either way.
